How can we put the import_file.pl in a particular directory (say tmp) and still make it accessible through the Pkg::Pl->import_file(‘file’) method?
Would it be possible for us to achieve this in a single line?

Just do this:

Design Philosophy
DNAsmac features a Graphical User Interface (GUI) to make it a friendly tool for everyday use. The software is divided in up to four main areas: sequence preparation, library description, sequence search, and an area devoted to specific tools for cloning and analysis.

In the Sequence preparation area, there are two tabs available for the user: “Add residue numbers” and “Add genetic code.” The first provides support for the addition of numbers to the sequence in order to indicate the insertion of an exogenous DNA fragment in the final product and the second the ability to read and visualize the GC content graphically.

The Library preparation tab is divided in two sections: “Universal sequences” and “Cloning and construction.” The first section provides the tools to generate a library for the cloning and construction of a final sequence, including the creation of a library from a DNA sequence, and reading, editing and saving the text file needed to describe the library. The second section allows the user to add sequences that will be part of the cloning into a library and create it ready to be cloned and sequenced, but also allow the user to save the library as a text file to be imported into DNAsmac for the analysis of the clones.

The search area lets users carry out the analysis of various sequences and their analysis, including the ability to perform a local alignment between two sequences, assembling a sequence database or the automated analysis of a set of sequences.
