I’ve been using it for a few months now. One thing that I notice is that the compressor starts to have a hard edge when I use 2 different inputs that are different in loudness. The best solution for this is try lowering the gain on the other inputs to -40dB and then leave just the input that is distorted. If that doesn’t fix it then the only thing left to do is use the compressor with a lower ratio. Also try to keep it in a place with a noisier room (or if you are recording it in a less noisy place)
For the hard hitting door (from what you said I’m assuming you’re using a 7 channel mixer) it could be from a low amount of gain on the output of the compressor and once again that’s something that you can’t fix in the compressor but you can fix in the mixer.
You might be able to lower your gain to make it work better. Make sure that you test it out before you use it and go from there.
