Elden Ring [Updated] 2022

This review is based on the PS4 version of the game, which I received for my personal use; there is no monetary incentive for writing this review. I am also not affiliated with Atlus or Nintendo in any way.

The latest RPG from Atlus, The Elden Ring, is a new take on a very familiar concept. Rather than focusing on the story in the back story, we’re instead focusing on the journey in the front. The main character, Tarnished, is a more charming and interesting character than we’ve seen from Atlus in a long time. They take a little step from their Darker than Black series, as the story is not completely dark (at least not to begin with). This is a good thing because sometimes the games in the Darker than Black series may get a little heavy on the eyes and sound especially on the beginning parts. I have seen a few people praise this game for it’s light plot, but in my opinion, it is a rather easy story to follow. This does not work against the game, and it does not let anything slip by. The story is detailed and detailed in a way that I didn’t expect to happen.

I know that I should not use “love it or hate it” in a review, but with how I have been feeling lately regarding Tarnished, I could only pick one side. I absolutely love the main character, Tarnished. I do not know why exactly, but I am actually quite interested in his character growth and the way that the story is told through his and the other characters interactions. Tarnished goes through an arc, as well as I do feel that the other characters do as well. I believe this is one of the most important aspects in a story (believe it or not). To be more specific, there is only one good thing that can be said about Tarnished. During the development of the game, Atlus noticed that the main character in this game was not liked by the character development team, and even some of the core members of the team themselves. The team decided to rework a lot of the character development, as well as even changed the main character himself. They reshaped the character into a more personable and relatable version of him. In the end, I think that the new version is much better.
